Client case

Cervera, e-commerce with PIM in Episerver

Cervera asked us for help to increase digital sales. We developed an innovative and new innovative digital platform on Episerver with an accompanying PIM system (Product Information Management).

The solution is flexible and builds on physical shopping behaviour with a digital adaptation where simple product presentations sit alongside promotions, inspiring sections with editorial content and recipes that encourage sharing images on social media

Our solution

The platform and visual communication are built on the idea of offering the user a "smorgasbord" that inspires and creates an "I want it" feeling. Cervera.se should be a website where the content is used by store staff while at the same time providing inspiration and information to customers. A concept that results in more returning visitors and, not least, increased sales.

Customer's requirements list

  • Clearer interface design
  • Super-simple navigation
  • Large inspiring product images

  • Banners with 'hotspots'
  • Simple and effective search function

Our solution

Results

The new digital platform was successfully launched on 5 November 2012 and quickly resulted in increased traffic and higher sales across both mobile and other devices.

The website has a new, simpler and easy-to-navigate structure that guides the visitor through the entire purchasing process. Cervera.se has also been very positively received by both suppliers and customers.

Technical solution

The technical solution consists of EPiServer and Limetta's own Live Search and PIM system (Product Information Management).

The purchase flow was rebuilt to be simpler and clearer and was expanded with Klarna Invoice and Klarna Account so that customers can choose their preferred payment method.

Cervera already had Limetta's product management system Limetta PIM but it was upgraded to the latest version and a bespoke workflow was developed specifically for Cervera.

The new workflow eliminated duplicate work that was previously required to maintain the information in two systems. The solution also included more and better automated imports/exports that remove unnecessary manual intervention Up-to-date information from business and store systems makes it possible to make qualitative decisions about what should be presented on the website - and with more accurate information the customer who shops online feels greater confidence in their purchase

Cervera's previous design and structure felt dated and were not responsive. It also lacked clear inspirational elements, which were an important part of their brand.
