Kunskapsgymnasiet gets a makeover
First up was Kunskapsskolan but now Kunskapsgymnasiet also gets a new look. A project marked by lots of laughter, joy and hard work with the best team.
Kunskapsgymnasiet’s programs start from each individual. Students learn subject knowledge while developing their ability to lead themselves and others. With a focus on self-leadership and study coaching, they promote students’ personal development and readiness for life after upper secondary school.
The assignment
The assignment included reviewing the UX and design for Kunskapsgymnasiet.se and the individual schools’ websites. The goal of the new website was to ensure that users can quickly and easily find relevant information, understand it and act
The message they tried to convey was a bit lost in the noise of all the information on the existing site. We therefore needed to create a simpler structure with clearer flows and clarify the benefits of what they offer. With the student in focus and the business goals as support, we started from the concept “what do students want and need to know?” Kunskapsgymnasiet wanted the new website to be modern and easy to navigate while also feeling serious, trustworthy and welcoming
They also wanted to place greater emphasis on the choice of upper secondary school than they had before and to have a recognisable link to the primary school sites we previously developed

Purpose and goals of the new website
To:
- explain who we are and our concept (highlight the leadership concept and what is special about us)
- recruit students and teachers
- strengthen the brand
- make it easy for visitors to find the right information
- have a structure that follows today's browsing behavior
- introduce "friendly" and logical URLs
- revise the content - images and texts
- share news about Kunskapsgymnasiet
- profile the principals so that they become a face for the school
- make it easy for students and guardians at the schools to find practical information about the school

Design concept
Kunskapsgymnasiet has an orange profile color and we combined it with a bold, more mature dark gray. The orange is used both saturated and strong where it should make an impression or convert, and in a lighter variant for background panels. Together with the complementary colors turquoise and light gray they create a nice contrast and harmony. We also developed a concept for images with cut-out people against colored backgrounds.

The result - a modern, visual and user-friendly website
On the new website the structure has been reorganized and simplified. Texts and the way content is presented have been refined and now give a clearer picture of what Kunskapsgymnasiet stands for.
To work as cost-effectively as possible we have reused some components from the primary school project. By keeping the homepage layout with a large hero image and top navigation we create clear recognition.
The program pages have received a major upgrade with new smart features, an image gallery and a layout that makes the page more appealing. We also developed a new concept to help students choose their upper-secondary program. The existing graphic profile was updated to be more cohesive and modern.
