Investor AB in Umbraco Cloud
When the investment company Investor launched a pitch to select a digital agency and develop a new website, they chose Limetta. We then developed their new digital presence – the result was a new site built in Umbraco Cloud.
The brief for Investor
The brief was to design and develop a new website that better reflects Investor and what the company does and stands for. An important goal was that the site should be easily accessible and that Investor’s different audiences, from owners to employees and other stakeholders, could easily find what they are looking for. It was also important that the website be modern, cutting‑edge and trustworthy.
Work process
The work began with a workshop where we took stock of Investor’s goals and purpose to gain a better understanding of the objectives and what was important to Investor in the project. Since time was an important factor, we had a clear vision, both internally and with Investor, that the project would be run iteratively and that the collaboration would proceed as planned with all timelines met.
Design
The challenge was to strike a balance between being strict, businesslike and professional, and being human, transparent and inclusive. At the same time, it was of the utmost importance that the website gained a clear and distinctive visual identity.
Investor wanted the new website to be:
- Bold
- Easy to navigate
- Functional
- Inviting
- Sophisticated
To achieve this, we consistently worked to create balance by shifting perspective, from details to the whole. We placed great emphasis on achieving harmony through color and headline composition, and on adding life and movement through large, trust-inspiring images shot from an above perspective. We also aimed to make it easier for the user to find what they are looking for by developing an efficient structure and clear, intuitive navigation.
Based on a data-driven needs analysis, we effectively met users’ needs through clear and flexible entry points on both the homepage and other pages as well as within the framework. New reports are automatically placed as a prioritized entry on the homepage and as a graphic feature in the footer, and the most sought-after content, Investors’ holdings (i.e. the companies included in Investors’ portfolio), is always easy for the user to reach.
Technical platform – Umbraco Cloud for Investor
To ensure the best possible hosting environment, we chose to host the website on Umbraco Cloud.
The advantages of Umbraco Cloud are many:
- It is easy to push content between environments. For example, you can build a new section of the site tree in Staging and then easily 'copy' it over to the Live environment
- It is easier to perform deploys/releases between different environments
- We can focus on developing Investor's presence instead of spending time and energy on everything from updates to managing servers
The solution for Investor
The result of our joint work is a modern, functional and easy-to-navigate website where the visitor has the opportunity to delve into both structure and content, and where natural flows guide the visitor in the right direction. With clear navigation and structure, we have ensured that relevant information is in the right place. A varied layout and design make it easy for the user to get an overview and quickly find what they are looking for
