Easy-to-use new website in Episerver for Konsumentföreningen Stockholm

Konsumentföreningen Stockholm put out a brief and met with various agencies to develop their new website. KfS had a design agency that developed the concept and design. Our role was to develop and implement it in Episerver. The consumer association's existing site was somewhat outdated and not responsive, which of course was a major obstacle for their 800,000 members.

KfS often has many member offers and activities and therefore saw a great need to present them clearly in an attractive and simple way. We therefore built an “offers calendar” for the different pages. With a simple page template the editor can quickly and easily create a new offer, and to guide the user onward there is also a section for recommended similar events or offers with tagged related material.

Interaction

The design is pared-down and based on simple colored tiles. By building a frontend that is animated in a pleasant and subtle way, the user is guided effectively through the interaction.

We built a number of different modules that are then used to construct the various pages on the site, thereby creating variation across the pages without risking a fragmented visual and functional language.

Project team

We worked together with the design agency and the client in a tight and efficient team, where concept sketches and UX ideas from the design agency were continuously reviewed with Limetta's development team.

Thanks to regular check-ins and well-planned sprints and demos, this ensured that the objectives were met and that no details were lost along the way.

Technical solution

Konsumentföreningen's new website is built on the latest version of Episerver and features a search function based on Epifind, where editors can continuously work to minimize zero-result searches and ensure the search consistently maintains a high quality. The site also includes a forum for Konsumentföreningen members with functionality for comments and discussion. In addition, users have access to an events and offers calendar so KfS can promote its offers efficiently. We have also integrated with Mynewsdesk so that KfS can easily manage press releases and news.

Results

Users have reacted very positively to the modern look as well as to the clear and simple navigation, and the Consumer Association now has a robust platform to scale up its communication.
