Streamly - all streaming services in one web app
Streamly collects content from 10+ streaming services such as Netflix, HBO, Prime Video and YouTube all in one place. The service was launched out of frustration with the enormous amount of streamed material scattered across the various platforms. On Streamly the user instead finds and sorts series, films and shows in one and the same service
Requirements specification
To make Streamly a truly smart service, with a clear purpose and goals, we started by conducting user interviews. We spoke with different types of users, each with specific needs and behaviors, to gain insight and understanding of their expectations
Together with Streamly we prioritized the needs and then designed an initial prototype that laid the foundation for what users wanted. We then built a clickable prototype with only the essential features, which we had a group of users test. The input and feedback formed the basis for further development and how the service took shape.

Web app and technology in Amazon AWS
Streamly's technical ecosystem contains several services such as: content scraping, import, categorization, search, recommendations and filtering. The services are deployed in Amazon AWS, which automatically scales as load increases.
The scraping engine is built as a generic service that can be configured for any format. For example, HBO's streaming catalogue is mapped by the scraping engine running the actual HBO website, executing JavaScript and navigating the site, extracting data in a standard format, which is then imported, categorized and so on.
